What Tuition.fyi is

Tuition.fyi is a crowdsourced database of real tuition costs at US universities. Students upload billing documents, we extract the financial data with AI, and make it available anonymously to help other students make informed decisions about where to study.

Your submissions

By submitting data, you confirm that the document you upload is your own genuine tuition document. You grant Tuition.fyi permission to extract, store, and display the anonymized financial data publicly. You understand that once submitted, the anonymized data becomes part of the public database.

Accuracy

We use AI to extract data from documents, which may occasionally produce errors. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any data on the platform. Users should verify information independently before making financial decisions. Tuition.fyi is an informational tool, not financial advice.

Access tokens

When you submit data, you receive access tokens that can be shared with others. Each token is single-use and grants one person access to the full database. Tokens cannot be sold or transferred for monetary value. We reserve the right to revoke tokens that are abused.

Prohibited use

• Submitting false or fabricated documents
• Submitting documents that are not your own
• Scraping or bulk downloading data from the platform
• Using the platform to harass, identify, or target individual students
• Selling access tokens

No affiliation

Tuition.fyi is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any university, the U.S. Department of Education, or any government agency. University names appear in the database because students submitted data from those institutions.

Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
